Marian Gorecki, Ph.D.
Dr. Gorecki has managed MediWound since its founding in 2001 until November 2006. He is currently a member of MediWound's Board of Directors.
Prior to the founding of MediWound, Dr. Gorecki was a associate professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science, following which, he was one of the founders of Bio-Technology General (NASDAQ: SVNT), and was also its Chief Scientist and General Manager for more than 20 years.
Ruben Krupik, LL.B. B.A. Economics & Pol. Sc. - Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. Krupik was co-founder of numerous successful companies in medical technology (Given Imaging – NASDAQ: GIVN), image processing (3DV), broadband (V-Soft and witcom) and Rafael Development Corporation (RDC), a joint venture by Rafael (a technological division of the Israeli Ministry of Defense) and a group of large investment corporations of which he was also President and CEO in other fields. Prior to that, Mr. Krupik held numerous senior positions in Tadiran Telecommunication Group. Presently he serves as the CEO of Clal Biotechnology Industriesand and the chairman of several leading Israeli bio -tech companies.
Lior Rosenberg, M.D.
Prof. Rosenberg was one of the founders of MediWound and has been serving as MediWound Chief Medical Officer since its inception. Prof. Rosenberg is also a member of the Board of Directors of MediWound.
Prof. Rosenberg is the head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Soroka University Medical Center in Beer Sheva, heads the unit for Cleft Lip Palate & Craniofacial deformities at Meir Medical Center, Kfar Saba, and is a Professor of Medicine at the Ben-Gurion University Medical School in Beer Sheva. His years of pioneering work with the product and his expertise and extensive personal ties with key opinion leaders in the field of burns and wound care form the clinical basis of MediWound’s development program. Prof. Rosenberg has given more than 60 presentations relating to Debrase® at international conferences and published numerous peer reviewed papers, 2 of the papers were specifically about Debrase®.
Ofer Gonen, B.Sc., MA Economic & Finance
Mr. Gonen is in charge of steering business development for CBI's portfolio companies and serves as company liaison with co-investors. In addition, he serves as an executive board member of leading Israeli companies (Colbar, TransPharma, Polyheal, Cure Tech, MediWound, CLS etc.). Concurrently, Mr. Gonen serves as the managing director of Biomedical Investments, a life sciences oriented investment company.
A veteran of Talpiot, a prestigious IDF unit, he accrued extensive technological and R&D experience in his military service, during which he was awarded the Israeli National Security Medal.
Mr. Gonen received his MA in Economics and Finance from the Tel Aviv University and his BSc in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Aharon Schwartz, Ph.D.
Dr. Schwartz has been with Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (NASDAQ: TEVA) since 1975 and has served as Vice President-Strategic Business Planning and New Ventures since April 2002. He previously served as Vice President-Global Products Division since 1999 and Vice President of the Copaxone® Division from 1995 - 1999. From 1993 to 1995, he served as Vice President Business Development/Export Division and served as head of the Pharmaceutical Division from 1989 to 1993. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors in a number of biotechnology companies. Dr. Schwartz received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Weizmann Institute in 1975.
Meron Mann, M.Sc.
Mr. Mann has been with Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (NASDAQ: TEVA) since 1978, where he has served as Group Vice President Europe until 2006 and has been the President and CEO of Teva Pharmaceutical Europe B.V. until 2006. From 1990 to 2002, he served as President of Teva's Active Pharmaceuticals Ingredients division and from April 2002 to August 2002, he served as Group VP Global Resources. Mr. Mann received his M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Haifa Technion -The Israel Institute of Technology in 1978 and his B.Sc. from Tel Aviv University in 1976.
